Moreno turned in a strong first meet of the season, taking second in the weight throw with a distance of 15.44 meters (5th all-time at FPU) in the Sunshine Open and giving the Sunbirds a 1-2-3 finish in the shot put (10.14 meters). Three weeks later at the Kim Duyst Invitational, Moreno won the discus with a distance of 40.72 meters and turned in another win in the hammer at 49.55 meters, good enough for 4th on FPU's career list.
