As Administrative Assistant to the Department of Athletics since 2024, Sundstrom supports the Director in Athletics in managing daily operations and maintaining a professional, organized office. He handles scheduling, communication, event support, and meeting coordination. He also assists with staff hiring, student-athlete evaluations, and collaborates on finances, inventory, and compliance reporting.

Since 2021, Sundstrom has served as Head Athletic Trainer at Fresno High School, focusing on injury prevention, evaluation, and care for student-athletes. He manages first aid, rehab plans, and medical clearance, while also educating students on health and safety. He also maintains records, oversees the training room, and mentors student trainers, all with a strong commitment to student wellness and professional care.

He graduated from Fresno State with a BS in Athletic Training and obtained his MS in Athletic Administration from Southeastern Oklahoma State University.

Sundstrom and family are active members at Clovis Hills Church, where he serves on the worship team as a guitarist, bassist, and vocalist.

Originally from the Bay Area, his professional sport allegiances unwaveringly follow suit as a San Francisco Giants, San Francisco 49ers, and San Jose Sharks fan.

Sundstrom was married to his wife, Cheyenne, in 2020 and they have two sports and monster truck obsessed boys, Liam and Levi.
