As a Junior (2021) - Member of the Sunbird Track & Field Team
2019-20:
Outdoor- set a mark of 17-10.75 in long jump at the Kim Duyst Invitational … earned Academic All-PacWest honors …
As a Sophomore (2019) – at the Hornet Invitational, he leapt a season-best 6.16m in the long jump....named Academic All-PacWest.
As a Freshman (2018) – scored points for FPU at the PacWest Championships with a career-best-tying leap of 6.29m (20-07.75) in the long jump….also marked 6.29m at the Bryan Clay Invitational earlier in the season.
Prior to FPU - Prepped at Central High School....spent three seasons on the varsity team under head coach Gary Davis.
Personal - Son of Michelle Garcia and Savon Maxwell....has two siblings named Da'lon and Lanyka....people he most admires are his mother and grandmother....favorite food is pizza....favorite TV show is Into the Badlands....lists the Anthem or The Giver as his favorite books....his good friend Breanna Covington is on the track and field team at Fresno State....prays as a pregame ritual....roots for the Oakland Raiders....favorite athlete is Russell Westbrook....favorite musical artist is Jaden Smith....attends Family World Harvest church....D.J. is a kinesiology major with an emphasis in exercise science.
