Trevor Ferguson was named an assistant for the Fresno Pacific track & field programs in November of 2017. He joined FPU after a successful career as an athlete and assistant coach at the University of Oregon.
At the U of O, Ferguson worked with the sprinters, hurdlers and horizontal jumpers during the 2015-16 and 2016-17 seasons as a volunteer assistant coach. He helped numerous national champions, school record holders and NCAA record breakers during his time there, including the 2016 Men’s Indoor National Champions, 2016 and '17 Women’s Indoor National Champions, and the 2017 Women’s Outdoor National Champions. The women’s team made history in 2017 by completing the historic Triple Crown -- winning NCAA titles in cross country, indoor track & field and outdoor track & field in the same academic year.
As a student-athlete, Ferguson was a two-time NCAA All-American in the long jump, as well as an accomplished triple jumper and hurdler. He was part of the 2014 and '15 Men’s Outdoor National Championship teams, the first in program history since 1984. At the conference level, he was an essential part of the men’s team winning their sixth-through-ninth consecutive Pac-12 team championships. Scoring in all three disciplines, Ferguson was often a high-point scorer for the Ducks, as well as being a team captain his senior year.
Ferguson was born and raised in Oregon City, Ore. where he competed in many sports. At Oregon City High School, he was the OSAA State Champion in the triple jump in 2010. He was also an All-State First Team selection in basketball, and lettered in football.
