Biography
As a Freshman (2018-19) – at the PCSC Championships, took second in the 800-free relay (6:56.84), third in the 200 IM (2:00.48), and sixth in the 400 IM (4:11.74)….competed early in the season at the CSCAA National Collegiate Open Water Championship, where he completed the 5,000-meter race in 1:05:36.67 to pace FPU, taking 38th overall.
Prior to FPU - Prepped at West Hills High School and spent two years on the varsity team for head coach Robert Kruger....named MVP and Swimmer of the Year.
Personal - Son of Jodi and Matt Souttere....has a brother named Trent....enjoys eating pizza....favorite TV show is Blue Mountain State....roots for the Los Angeles Chargers....favorite athlete is surfer Julian Wilson....enjoys cars and surfing as hobbies....Gavin is a graphic design major with plans to open a business.
