Biography

Personal - Carl was born and raised in Tacoma, WA... He is the son of Ray and Carole Weigley...He has an older sister, Leah...His favorite athletes are Alex Popov and Ken Griffey, Jr...He enjoys Beatles music...His favorite movie is "Star Wars"...Carl is a Kinesiology major...His career goal is to work with professional athletes.

Prior to FPU - Carl is a graduate of Mount Tahoma High School, where he swam for three years...His team earned 4th place at the state championships...He was a state champion in the 100 fly and the 4x100 free relay...He was a three-time All American...He was named MVP in his senior season.

As a sophomore (2008) - Carl was part of 
the 2008 men's team that took Runner-Up at the NAIA Swimming and Diving Championship... At Nationals, he was one of the strongest male swimmer for the Sunbirds, accumulating 56 points in individual events and 162 points in team events, totaling 218 points...Carl came in 3rd place in the 50 yard Freestyle final, placed 3rd in the 400 Yard Medley Relay, and took 2nd in the 800 Yard Freestyle Relay at the National Championships...He also won two individual events, the 100 Yard Butterfly and the 100 Yard Freestyle, posting NAIA record times in both of those events...Carl and his teammates also won the 400 Yard Freestyle Relay with an NAIA record time...Carl was named First Team All-American. 

As a junior: Carl was a part of the 2010 NAIA national championship men’s team…At Nationals, he totaled 230 points in individual and team events…Carl was a three-time national champion, individually winning the 100 butterfly and, along with his teammates, winning the 200 medley and 400 medley relays …Carl was also a member of the second place 800 freestyle relay, the third place 200 freestyle and 400 freestyle relays, and finished second in the 100 freestyle and fourth in the 50 freestyle…Carl earned FPU’s award for Most Valuable Swimmer.
