Biography

As a Junior (2010)- Appeared in eight games for the Sunbirds, including one start against eventual national champion Hastings....took three shots on the season including two in a 3-0 win over Menlo (9/20).

As a Sophomore (2008) - Valentin played in 12 of the Sunbirds' 17 matches, including 2 starts...He had 1 assist for 1 point...He took 8 shots, 5 on goal...He finished the year with a .625 shot on goal percentage.

As a Freshman (2007) - Valentin appeared in 9 of the Sunbirds' 23 games, including 1 start…He registered 2 goals for a total of 4 points…He finished the year with a .167 shooting percentage (2-12)...He was named Most Improved Player.

Prior to FPU - Valentin is a graduate of Central Union High School in El Centro, CA…His soccer coach was Nabil Noujim...As a freshman, he was named Rookie of the Year…He was named second team All-League in both his junior and senior years…He earned the Golden Boot award in his final season...Valentin also played club soccer with the Dynamo of El Centro...His team was State Cup Champion in 2005.

Personal - Valentin was born and raised in El Centro, CA...He is the son of Valentin and Elisa Gonzalez...He has two older sisters, Michelle and Melissa...He favorite foods are pizza and sushi...His favorite book is "Rain of God"...He enjoys oldies music...Valentin is a Business Administration major...He wants to own a business and coach soccer someday.
