As a Junior (2018) – rounded out the scoring for FPU at the PacWest Championships, where he finished the 8k race in 26:54.9 (38th)….ran a career best in the 8k at the Santa Clara University Bronco Invitational, where he clocked 26:16.5....named Academic All-PacWest.

As a Freshman (2016) – was a key contributor on the FPU team that finished 4th in the PacWest (tying FPU’s highest ever finish since joining the PacWest)….opened the season at the Lancer Invitational (9/2), completing the 6k course in 19:51 and propelling the team to a second place finish overall….performed well at the UC Riverside Invitational (9/17), where he ran the 8k course in 26:31.39….competed in the NCAA West Regionals, finishing his first 10K ever with a time of 34:20.78.

Prior to FPU - Spent four years on the varsity cross country team at Corcoran High School under head coach Isaias Ramirez....posted a top time of 15:19 in the 5k....received several awards, including team MVP and Athlete of the Year.

Personal - Son of Priscilla and Cain McDonald....favorite movie is Star Wars....likes to eat pizza....favorite book is Harry Potter....friend on another college team is Gary Austin of College of the Sequoias....Jonathan is a math major who plans on becoming an engineer.
