Ryan Walker

Ryan Walker is in his first year as an assistant coach at Fresno Pacific. Walker comes to FPU from West Hills College in Coalinga, California, where he assisted Mark Arce from 2005 to 2007. West Hills finished the 2005-06 season 19-13 and advanced to the first round of the state playoffs. The 2006-07 team finished 25-10, an all-time school record for wins in a season, while advancing to the Elite Eight in the California Junior College State Championships. They also ranked as high as No. 7 in the state of California. Walker’s duties at West Hills included recruiting, working with perimeter players, scout team preparation, and various administrative duties. Ten players received scholarships to universities from those two teams.


Prior to West Hills, Walker coached for one year at Fullerton Union High School in Fullerton, California, and two years at Coalinga High School. While at Fullerton High and assisting under head coach Bill Czech, Walker was part of the 2004-05 team that finished 24-5, including an undefeated 10-0 Freeway League championship and advancing to the CIF Southern Section IIA Quarterfinals. 

Walker, a 1995 Coalinga High graduate and former City/County All-Star, has also spent three years coaching with various club teams from the Southern California area, four years as both a private individual and small group workout instructor, three summers coaching at the prestigious Snow Valley Basketball School in Santa Barbara, and one year at Coalinga Middle School.

                
Walker is a former account executive and regional manager in the copy machine and cellular phone markets in the Fresno County region. Walker has an Associate of Arts degree from West Hills College, a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, and a Certificate in Sports Management from National University. Walker and his wife Shondra, an FPU alum, were married this past summer and live in Fresno.
