Tim Culver was named full-time assistant coach of the Fresno Pacific University baseball team in 2024. Culver joined the Sunbirds staff in 2020 for one season before returning in 2022. In 2021 he was head coach at West Hills College in Coalinga, where he was also an assistant from 2017 – 2020. His coaching career began in 2008 at Southern Ohio University.
In addition to coordinating all recruiting for the Sunbirds, Culver is also the outfield and hitting coach. During games, he coaches third base.
As FPU Baseball moved into their new home – Dan Martin Stadium – in 2025, the program leveled up its analytics department with the installation and implementation of Trackman and AWRE analytic systems. Through routine data analysis, Culver leverages these technological advancements into his coaching and instruction.
As a player, Culver was part of Coach Oscar Hirschkorn’s inaugural Fresno Pacific baseball team from 2005 – 2007. Prior to FPU, his playing career began at Lancaster High School in Southern California with collegiate stops at Pasadena City College, Mississippi Valley State University, and Moorpark College. He earned a bachelor's degree from Fresno Pacific in 2007.
In 2010 he joined the Army National Guard, where he served for six years. Upon completion of his service, Coach Culver went on to receive his master’s degree from the University of Phoenix. In 2017, he was the Head Coach for the Fresno A's Collegiate Summer Team which he led to the NBC World Series in Wichita, Kansas. During his time coaching at West Hills, he also taught several business courses as an adjunct instructor.
Since 2023, Culver has been a coach for the Savannah Bananas on numerous world tour stops as well as a full season based in Georgia. The Bananas have leaned on Culver’s college recruitment expertise to regularly recruit, train, and develop Bananaball stars.
Culver met his wife Katy both as students at FPU in 2005. They live in Fresno with their daughter, Jordynn.
