FRESNO, Calif.- The Pacific West Conference has announced the men's and women's tennis All-Conference teams, and both of the Sunbirds No. 1's earned honors. 

The no. 1 player from the men's side, Ravi Nelson has been named to the All-PacWest second team. The no. 1 player on the women's side, Yume Ueoku was named to the All-PacWest third team. 

Nelson's has been selected to the All-PacWest second team for the second year in a row. On court one, Nelson held a 11-7 overall singles records. On of Nelson's key victories of the season came over fellow second-teamer #38 MSU Denver's Lluc Limongi Ollers to help the Sunbirds win 4-3 over the #47 MSU Denver. 

"Ravi has consistently been playing at a very high level this season and I'm happy that he's being acknowledged for that," said head coach Sam Gaeddert. "He has put a lot of hard work into his game and his conditioning this year and it's translated into wins on our top singles court. He is very deserving of this accomplishment, and more. I'm proud of him."

Ueoku led the Sunbird's women's tennis team with a 12-9 overall singles record on court one. Ueoku recorded notable wins against two nationally-ranked players included #31 Dominican's Audrey Rafols and #68 Azusa Pacific's Vini Margaret Bautista  This season, Ueoku was ranked as high as #21 in the ITA National Singles Rankings and #7 in the west region. 

"Yume is a one-of-a-kind of player and person," continued Gaddert. "Her energy and creativity on court is pretty infectious, and she has pulled off some great wins this season on our number 1 singles and doubles courts. We're lucky to have her and I'm happy that she's being acknowledged for her successes this year."

Nelson will look to lead the Sunbird men's team today in the quarterfinals against Hawai'i Pacific at 1pm at the PacWest Conference Championships. After, a loss yesterday to the Biola Eagles, Ueoku and the Sunbird women's team are in the consolation bracket and will face MSU Denver tonight at 5pm.
