FRESNO, Calif. – It was the first game of the 2021 season for the Fresno Pacific women's soccer team, as they fell to Sonoma State. The Seawolves grabbed a 1-0 lead in the 33
rd minute, and never looked back, taking the match by a final of 4-0.

SCORING
- (32:02) The Seawolves' Renee Ketner kicked off the scoring in Thursday's contest after slotting home a pass from Molly Murphy.
- (44:34) The visitors struck again right before the half with a goal from Andrea Lozano.
- (49:42) Sonoma State added to their lead once again right out of the halftime break with a goal from just inside the half field line from Krissy Keller. The goal was assisted by Molly Murphy.
- (54:07) Keller repaid Murphy's assist from the goal prior by setting her up for the Seawolves fourth.
STATS FROM THE GAME
- Sonoma State outshot the Sunbirds 23-4, including nine shots on goal to FPU's three.
- Goalkeeper Brigitta Eggertsdottir played 64 minutes and recorded five saves.
- The Seawolves had nine corner kicks in the match, compared to three for the Sunbirds.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- For the first time in 656 days, FPU women's soccer hosted a game with fans in attendance at Ramirez Field.

- The Blue & Orange will have a chance to bounce-back this Saturday when they travel to Stanislaus State for a 7 p.m. match. Following, the Sunbirds will return home for a three-game home stand from Sept. 9-16.
