FRESNO, Calif. – The Fresno Pacific women's basketball team stumbled in overtime on Saturday, falling 100-92 in overtime against Notre Dame de Namur at the Special Events Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
• The Argos controlled the opening tip, giving way for NDNU scoring leader Jerusha Paine to come away with the first bucket of the game.
• FPU connected on 50% of their shots from the floor in the opening quarter while scoring 10 of their 21 points in the paint.
• The two teams exchanged buckets in the second quarter, allowing FPU to carry a 38-32 lead into the locker room at the intermission.
• The back-and-forth trend continued in the second half, with both teams turning in their most productive offensive quarter in the final stanza.
• With the Sunbirds leading by three, NDNU's Marissa Caballero connected on a half-court heave in the waning seconds of regulation to force the game to overtime.
• NDNU outscored their hosts 17-9 in the final stretch, giving the Argos their second win over FPU this season by a combined 12 points.

STATS OF THE GAME:
• Jerusha Paine and Marissa Caballero matched one another for a game-high 30 points, while Aaliyah Monroe added 20 points off the Argo bench.
• FPU's
Jessica Malazarte turned in a career-high 23 points, and
Bree Alvarez poured in 17 of her own.
Cassie Pisik and
Ashley Cross each got into double-figures as well, with Pisik collecting a team-high seven rebounds.
• Paine's 22 rebounds rounded out a double-double and helped the Argos outrebound the Sunbirds 53-32 for the game.
• The Blue and Orange again made their presence felt on the defensive side of the ball, racking up a season-high 11 blocks as a team, including four from
Julia LoCastro.
• The Sunbirds won the turnover battle by a slim 18-17 margin, and FPU shot a higher percentage (48%-46%) from the floor for the game.  Â

BEYOND THE BOX:
• The Sunbirds have forced more turnovers than they have committed in all but two PacWest games this season. Â
• Saturday was FPU's first overtime game of the year and 92 points is their highest-scoring game since February 25, 2012 in a win against Hope International.
