HOW IT HAPPENED:
• Azusa Pacific controlled the opening tip, allowing Tara Casey to hit a three for the first bucket of the afternoon.
• Behind points from five Sunbirds in the first quarter, the Blue and Orange led the Brick and Black 16-15 heading into the second stanza.
• The Cougars pulled away in the second quarter, forcing FPU into 14 first half turnovers to carry a 20-point advantage into the intermission. Â
• FPU put together their most complete offensive stretch over the game's final ten minutes, outscoring APU 24-22.

STATS OF THE GAME:
• APU's Abbigail Goodsell led all scorers with 23 points, while teammate Zoe March finished as the only other player in the game to land in double-figures.

Cassie Pisik and
Megan Lee matched one another with a team-high nine points, while Ashley cross collected seven rebounds.

Jessica Malazarte finished her day with seven points, four rebounds and four assists.
• Casey Wortley and Savanna Hanson combined for 17 boards to help the Cougars outrebound their hosts 47-37.

BEYOND THE BOX:
• Monday marked just the second time this season that the Sunbirds have committed more turnovers (24) than their opponents (16).
• The loss to Azusa was the first time this year that no FPU player has scored in double-figures.
