2019 Women's Track & Field Roster
Biography
As a Junior (2017-18) – had a breakout year for the Sunbirds, recording career bests in the 1500m (4:55.28), 3000m (10:42.18), 5000m (17:54.68), and 10,000m (38:53.29)….performed well at the PacWest Championships, taking sixth in the 10,000m to score for Team FPU.
As a Sophomore (2016-17) - scored points for FPU at the PacWest Championships with a sixth place finish in the 10,000m (39:20.40), good for seventh all-time in FPU history….at the SF State Distance Carnival, recorded a season-best time of 10:56.65 in the 3000m….at the Pomona-Pitzer Invite, improved her personal best in the 5k race by over 30 seconds, running 18:56.47.
Sunbird Notes - Also a member of the women's cross country team.
Prior to FPU - Spent one season at Fresno City College under coach Jesus Reyes....earned the Academic Torch of Excellence....placed ninth at the CCCAA state championship (10k)...prior to that, spent four years on the varsity cross country and track & field team at Sanger High School running under head coach Clay Manning....earned all league honors....team captain....area runner up in the 4x4....also competed on the track and field team, where she earned all league honors....participated in other extracurricular activities, including FCC Student Senate, President Hi-Y, and high school ASB leadership.
Personal - Daughter of Anastacio Arevalo and Irma Puga....has two younger brothers....chose Fresno Pacific because of the Christian environment....person she most admires is her mom....likes to watch the tv show Friends....her good friend Malena Grover is a runner at Adams State....favorite bands are Arcade Fire, Third Eye Blind and Tim McGraw....enjoys reading and hiking as hobbies....attends Saint Mary's Catholic Church....Vicki is a psychology major with plans to go to graduate school and obtain a marriage and family therapy (MFT) license.
