As a Junior (2018) – took home the PacWest Conference Champion hardware with a career-best 43.70m heave in the discus….also scored for FPU in the javelin, where she threw a career-best 32.72m for eighth overall….at the Kim Duyst Invitational, she recorded career bests in the shot put (10.62m) and hammer (34.64m).

As a Sophomore (2017) - Competed in all four throwing events at the PacWest Championships and took fifth in the hammer (32.70m) and sixth in the discus (36.50m)....earned the Sunbird Award.

As a Freshman (2016) - Academic All-PacWest....posted personal bests in the shot put and discus at the Rossi Relays (2/27) early in the season....threw a personal record in the discus at 38.14 to take sixth at the Bryan Clay Invite (4/15)....competed in all four throwing events at the PacWest Championships with a top finish of seventh in the discus (33.68).

Prior to FPU - Spent four seasons on the varsity team at Buchanan High School under head coach Brian Weaver....part of the TRAC championship team her freshman and senior years....received the Outstanding Teammate and Commitment awards....also ran cross country for the Bears....active in the St. Baldrick's Club, the Academic Decathlon, AVID and CSF.

Personal - Daughter of Richard and Renee Garcia....has three siblings: Cameron, Nicolette, and Diego....chose FPU because of the "family" atmosphere....person she admires most is her godfather, Joseph Garcia....greatest sports thrill was competing in the PacWest Championships....favorite food is sushi....favorite tv show is Underworld....says the St. Michael's prayer before every competition as a pregame ritual....enjoys listening to the artist P!nk....hobbies include drawing and writing....Kaylin is a criminal justice major with plans to become a police officer or FBI agent.
