As a Sophomore (2017) - at the PacWest Championships, placed fifth in the 5000m with a time of 15:19.07….performed well at the Bulldog Invitational, where he ran to a first-place finish in the 3000m with a season-best 8:54.06….at the Bryan Clay Invitational, he jumped to seventh all-time at FPU with a personal best mark of 15:02.17 in the 5000m.

As a Freshman (2016) - Ran 15:09.86 in the 5,000 meter for 10th fastest in school history at the Pomona-Pitzer Invite (4/9).

Sunbird Notes - Also a member of the men's cross country team.

Prior to FPU - Spent four seasons on the varsity team at Kingsburg High School under head coach Robert Hernandez...two-time champion of the John Seaman Invitational...won the 2014 D-IV Central Section Championship by 45 seconds and finished third in the D-IV State Meet...also played two seasons of varsity soccer for the Vikings.

Personal - Parents are Fernando and Juana Torres...has two siblings named Evan and Gicela...favorite food is a Chipotle burrito...favorite movie is Interstellar...enjoys reading "Running with the Buffaloes"...roots for FC Barcelona...favorite athlete is Ben True...hobbies include playing paintball...attends Our Lady of Sorrows church...Alex is a kinesiology major with plans on becoming a physical therapist.
