LONG BEACH, Calif. – The Fresno Pacific men's soccer team earned their first PacWest Conference honor after defeating conference opponents Chaminade and Hawaii Pacific. The Sunbirds are officially first in conference going 2-0 in PacWest play and 3-3 overall.
In the first match of the week, the men's team secured a decisive 3-0 home victory over Chaminade in the conference opener, marking their second win of the season and first shutout in of the season. Strong performances from

Zion Vaughn iced the win for the 'Birds with a blazing, top-shelf, counter-attack goal in the 79th minute, bringing the final score to 3-0. It marked Vaughn's first goal as a Sunbird, and Fresno Pacific's highest goal tally in a game this season.
Fresno Pacific triumphed over Hawaii Pacific with a thrilling 4-2 victory on Saturday night. The Sunbirds surged ahead with two first-half goals from Martin and maintained their lead with another pair from Ribeiro in the second. The breakthrough came in the 21st minute when team captain
Julian Aran Martin scored a header into the back of the net, assisted by
Bryan Lopez, putting the 'Birds ahead. The senior defender pushed past the Sharks to score his second goal of the match using his head yet again. The Sunbirds held off the Sharks to the best of their ability until a penalty kick goal by Ribeiro in the 75th minute, increased their lead to 4-1.
NEXT UP: The Sunbirds continue PacWest Conference play against Hawaii-Hilo on Thursday, October 2nd. The contest kicks off at 6:00pm PT from Ramirez Field.
