Carl Weigley was part of Fresno Pacific swimming's first ever recruiting class and in many ways laid the foundation for the program to turn into the swimming power it is today.
In his four years as a student-athlete Weigley led the Sunbirds to two NAIA National Championships (2010, 2011) and won 11 national championships either in individual events or as part of a relay. He also set eight NAIA National records.
As a senior he was an NAIA All-American and was NAIA National Champion in the 100 butterfly and 100 backstroke. He was also a part of three national champion relay teams including setting national records in the 200 medley and 400 freestyle relays.
Weigley went on to compete in three events at the 2012 U.S. Olympic Trials in Omaha.
A native of Tacoma, Washington, Weigley graduated from Mount Tahoma High School where he won two state championships in swimming. In 2011 he graduated from Fresno Pacific with a degree in Kinesiology and a minor in coaching.
